5 action verbs that will change your life

5 VERBOS QUE CAMBIARÁN TU VIDA

Oh yes, the New Year is here. Who would thing everything will go so fast?

And with the New Year we feel a bit of a “mini crisis” that feed us with regrets to let go, New Years resolutions and many inspiring ideas to change something in our life in the months to come.

But as January starts hitting off we may loose some of the holiday’s inspiration, so here are 5 action verbs you may use to get inspired back and start getting things done. It is a very simple start that may really empower your year. Let´s go!

We’ve all been stuck in that place where things just don’t seem to go forward. We have trouble getting motivated and our goals seem either out of reach, or too weak. In short, we are uninspired! Some experts tell us that it’s not that people are lazy, it’s that most people have weak, or impotent goals or simply they just do not know WHY they are doing what they are doing.

Some self-improvement experts will tell you that you have to have a good attitude in order to improve your life. I would agree with that, but it’s not always that easy. It’s hard to set aggressive goals and get inspired to achieve them when your mindset is not right.

If your mind is not ready to embrace more exciting goals, then change will be very difficult. In fact, if you’re not ready for it, it will be hard to conquer even the smallest challenges. It is very simple, if you’re having trouble getting inspired you will not jump out of your Comfort Zone.

That is why I recommend using action to get inspiration and create change. This is a “Doers” way of getting into your minds and forces your attitude to match your actions. If you shake things up by taking action first, you’ll get your mind ready to create and pursue more exciting goals.

If you use these techniques, even in small ways, you will naturally find yourself on the road to change. Change of small things may lead to bigger and better goals. Bigger and better goals lead to accepting greater challenges… and there you go! You are on your way of changing and improving yourself and you personal and professional life. And, most important of all, you will se clearly WHY are you doing what you are doing.

Let´s take a look at 5 simple action verbs that you can use to shake things up, get out of your routine and get yourself mentally ready to take on new challenges, based on some words by Albert Einstein.

  1. CHANGE!

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Albert Einstein

Just make a little change. Take a different route to work, try something new in your usual clothing style, meet someone new outside your regular circles, change your hairstyle… Change your routine, or at least try to do something different. Change calls change. That is why it works. If you want a big change, start by making small changes in your life. And you will start seeing things in a different way and you will star to ask yourself some interesting questions.

  1. LEARN!

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein

Learn about something you know nothing about. It may be a new language or a new dance. To play an instrument or maybe you prefer some artistic touch. Learning something new develops your nervous system and makes you think in ways you’ve never thought before. It helps you very much to question yourself and the way you are doing things. If you really want to think out of the box, choose something totally different from your line of work. Learn something new. This really works!

  1. GIVE!

Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.
Albert Einstein

Give to a charity, an individual in need, or simply help a friend or relative. You don’t have to give something expensive or big. Just a show of appreciation will do. Giving is a very uplifting experience since it frees your mind from thinking that there is not enough in the world and it teaches you that people have many other problems different to the ones you have, an usually bigger! Giving teaches you that there is plenty to go around, and it will cause you to attract more good things in your life. And so it works for you and it works for others.

  1. CREATE!

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
Albert Einstein

Try to create something from scratch. Create a piece of art, write a short story, launch a new website or make a wood project. Creating stimulates all those dormant forces that allow change to enter your life. Creating something will give you a new approach to problem solving and it will power up your imagination. And that is why it works!

  1. PARTICIPATE!

Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.
Albert Einstein

Participate in community activities around you. And please, not only online! You may join a Networking Club, a sports team or do some theatre. Participate in local events around you. Go out and meet new people. Participation requires social interaction and creativity, both of which will stimulate and inspire you. You will also find yourself interacting with others ideas, which is good to see things with a different perspective.

So, these are you 5 new action verbs:

Change. Learn. Give. Create. Participate.

Each time you perform one of these inspiring actions you will feel new things. And that way your attitude will catch up to your actions an you will start thinking in new ways. Also make sure that you enjoy the process, knowing that what you are doing is good for you and for those around you as well.

As you will see, just the exercise of these 5 action verbs will be inspiration enough to get you thinking of what you could do to change your life and why will you do it. I hope you enjoy using these inspiring action verbs to change your mental state and improve your life.

And always remember the difference between creativity and innovation:
Ideas remain in the mental realm while results occur in the physical realm. Ideas without action are not capable of producing results. Nothing happens without taking action!

Have an amazing year!
